My education includes a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas, where my research focused on the relationship violence and attachment theory. I completed internship and postdoctoral training at The Ohio State University’s Counseling and Consultation Services Center. My education also includes a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Memphis, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mississippi State University.
Some approaches I use during counseling and therapy include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Prolonged Exposure Treatment for PTSD, and education about how attachment experiences influence our relationships. As an eating disorder specialist, I also will typically explore how one’s relationship with food impacts every day functioning.
