I am passionate about helping people like you find relief from symptoms while gaining the insight needed to move towards lasting wellbeing. I utilize kindness and curiosity in my work and always aim to first build mutual trust so that you can feel safe and accepted just as you are. I recognize that traumatic experiences often shape our worldview, so my work is always trauma-informed.
In our work together, your goals will guide the approach and interventions. Based on your needs, I will pull from modalities including behavioral therapies (CBT/DBT), EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Motivational Interviewing. Most importantly, we will leverage the strengths and resources you already possess and help you build new ones so that you can find the joy and serenity you deserve.
I have experience treating adults with a wide range of mental health and substance related concerns in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings and was most recently a dual diagnosis therapist with the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs. My education includes a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University where I also have experience at the Collegiate Recovery Community and counseling center.
As an advocate for you in the community, I have provided numerous trainings to mental health, medical, and university staff with the goals of decreasing stigma and increasing help-seeking and recovery. I also teach trauma-informed yoga classes to help strengthen the mind-body connection which is often impacted by trauma and substance use.
