I am an Independently Licensed Social Worker in the State of Ohio. I received an M.A. in Social Work from the Ohio State University in 2015 and a B.A. in Human Development and Family Science from The Ohio State University in 2012. As a mental health counselor, I foster an active and client-led approach to therapy, where I can help you build the tools and strengths within yourself to reach your goals. I believe that effective treatment begins with a genuine connection between us and I will strive to make you feel heard and understood.
My life experiences have built a strong understanding of diversity and I aim to create a safe space within therapy for all people and identities. I am honored to be joining you in your journey of self-understanding and healing! I have experience working with adolescents, adults, and families. I specialize in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness techniques to address a variety of concerns including emotional regulation issues, anxiety, depression, panic, Borderline Personality Disorder, and general coping with life stressors. I have experience working with individuals regarding pregnancy and am certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C).
Additionally, I have a specific focus in working with the LGBTQ+ population. I am trained in addressing Gender Dysphoria and have supported many individuals over the last six years in every step of their journey in embracing their gender identity. Some of the therapeutic approaches I use include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Skills Training, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy, Strength-Based Interventions, and Structural Family Therapy.
“I have seen a few therapists but have never connected better than with Victoria. I can talk to her like talking to a friend with confidence that no matter the topic, I won’t be judged. She has helped me in more ways than I could have imagined.”
