I am an Independently Licensed Social Worker in the state of Ohio with Supervisory Designation (LISW-S) and I received a degree from The Ohio State University in Psychology and Physical Anthropology. I also received a Master’s in Social Work from Boston University in 2014 (MSW). I was born in Colombia, South America to Chinese parents. I speak Spanish, Chinese (Cantonese) and English. I have worked with diverse populations and have provided therapeutic services at different agencies in different capacities.
I have been working in the field of mental health since 2006. I have experience working with children, families, young children, adolescents, adults, and high need clients. I have worked as a Case Manager, Outpatient Therapist, Early Childhood & Family Therapist, and Intensive Home-Based Therapist and School-Based Therapist throughout my professional career. I have worked for different organizations, such as St. Vincent Family Centers, Action for Children, North Community Counseling Centers and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. In addition, I have facilitated Parenting groups and worked closely with children and parents to address parental and attachment issues.
During these difficult times, I invite every individual to feel empowered to follow their goals, despite the barriers. I believe that individuals are resilient and are able to overcome challenges with appropriate care and support. I am here to accompany individuals through a journey so that they can fulfill their dreams and live meaningful lives. Some of the approaches used in therapy include CBT, DBT Skills, EMDR Trained, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Client Centered Therapy.
